Volume 3 Chapter 21 Attacker Windy
Windy swiftly moved through the sky using wind magic.
"In a place like this on the outskirts of the city, they can't just walk around everywhere."
It had been a few minutes since Ridge-sama ordered them to "kidnap Moruru-sama." Windy landed in an inconspicuous spot and muttered, "This should be the place."
"Now then... they say Wade's party leader is quite skilled, so the young lady might be in danger. Even though there are plenty of people, I need to take care of this quickly and go back."
Windy walked briskly, checking the knife and mini potion they had on their waist. They also adjusted their tailcoat that concealed them. They straightened the white gloves given to them as a butler.
"Wade's party consists of four members excluding the leader. With Moruru-sama and the resident merchant, they are six in total. However, the merchant is often absent..."
Muttering to themselves, Windy double-checked the information in their mind. As they did so, the distance to the goal was getting closer.
Finally, around the area where the trees began to increase, they found the party house, which was the destination.
There was also the target, Moruru―――the young form of the Metamorph Dragon.
"Now, shall we begin?"
In front of them, who seemed to be spending time outside for some reason, Windy took a deep breath. Then, they touched the magic seal on their right hand with their left hand and muttered.

A small but powerful whirlwind rose at their feet. Windy stepped on it. What they felt at their feet was a strong resistance. It was like a spring, propelling Windy into a leap.
And then, after a blink of an eye, Windy landed in the center of them.

"Good day, members of the Wade Party. I have come to pick up your precious daughter."
Raising their right hand, the remnants of the wind swirl high into the sky. With this, the preparations are complete. Windy chants.
"Summon Tornado. ―――Now, everyone, take care."
A tornado forms.
It suddenly emerges around Windy, lifting the five people present into the air and carrying them away into the sky.
It was one of the great magics performed by a magician who had trained their magic seal in a certain area. Reaching this level of mastery requires tremendous effort, but once achieved, one can defeat any opponent.
After Windy has expended a moderate amount of energy, all that's left is to pick up Moruru. It was a very simple command. However, for Windy, it was not an easy task at this moment.
Just as they thought that, lightning tore through the tornado.
"...I see, it's Sandra-sama. I didn't expect you to have developed the magic seal to that extent. You're only been an adventurer for a year or two."
The tornado weakened in power, and the members of the Wade Party fell from above. A zigzagging sparkle ran towards Windy, and it reached the ground and burst.
Then, the five scattered and tumbled.
"Oops. Let's recover somehow. Everyone, get back in position quickly. Windy is here."
"Sandra-san and I are the vanguard! Ice-san and Toxy are rearguard! As for Moruru-chan, I want you to hold Ice-san!"
"""Understood!"""
A chubby boy wielded a sledgehammer and quickly gave orders. Windy had thought Wade Party was all about Wade leading with Sandra supporting, but surprisingly, the others were not bad either.
"You must be Clay-sama. Are you the vice leader?"
"Yes. I'm in charge of commanding during battles. I never thought you would come to attack us, bypassing Wade-kun."
Hmm, Windy bluffed.
"I'm already surpassed that. Wade-sama has been defeated. Now it's just you guys."
"Impossible, no way."
At that moment, a girl with white hair that partially covered her eyes, holding Moruru as the rearguard, replied. Ice said.
"Wade-kun won't lose... Even someone as skilled as you can't defeat him unscathed...! So, it's a lie. You're lying to us."
"You really trust him a lot, don't you?"
"If only that trust was worth something. We're a group who have trained desperately to keep Wade from finding out, and yet we're still unable to reach him. I know better than anyone the danger of our leader."
The girl with purple hair said, glaring at Windy. It was Toxy. Her tainted magic was famous among nobles and priests of a certain rank.
"Let's leave it up to whether you believe it or not. I've told the truth. Now, it's time to show my skills. However, you guys probably won't be a match for me."
"What do you think?"
Clay smirked confidently. So, Windy moved quickly.
However, the target was Sandra.
"―――Huh!?"
With a swift wind magic movement, Windy closed the distance in an instant and struck Sandra's chin with the palm of their hand.
"Ugh..."
"You were wide open. That's overconfidence. It's common when you're just starting out as a silver rank. Take this as a lesson and rest."
Windy grabbed Sandra's head with the palm strike and slammed her head onto the ground. "Kahh..." Sandra rolled her eyes back and fell down.
"What!? Sandra!? No, it can't be...!"
"It's not a lie, Toxy-sama. This is reality. No matter how promising your party may be, when faced with a true expert, this is the result."
Windy confidently faces Clay as he attacks them with a powerful sledgehammer imbued with a strange glow and covered in rocks.
At the same time, sensing something eerie, Windy dodges back, avoiding a strange snowman trap. Realizing there's a poisonous trap ahead, Windy also leaps away.
In mid-air, Windy stands upright, floating with wind magic wrapped around their feet.
"...What kind of magic is that? It looks different from regular earth magic."
"I'm not sure. You'll understand if you try it."
"You're quite provocative. You won't live long if you keep provoking those stronger than you. The others may be cunning, but they won't let you off easily."
"I don't need to live long. I'll burn each moment and grow stronger, to catch up to Wade-kun."
With those words, a strange glint appears in the eyes of the remaining three. It's Madness. Windy recalls having eyes like that in the past.
"It's a good sign. If you have those eyes at the copper level, it's promising. The silver level is close."
Windy smiles. Then they adds,
"I'm going now. Please sink as smoothly as possible."
"Everyone, our primary goal is to protect Moruru-chan until Wade-kun returns. Our secondary goal is to defeat Windy-san. Let's achieve both, even though the first one goes without saying."
""Got it!""
"You're quite cheeky."
They glare at each other. A slight deadlock. And then, the balance was disrupted.
