Chapter 73 The Signboard Of Silver Apple Inn
"Hello, Adel-san!"
"Cress, what's up? What brings you to a place like this?"
The day after relocating the base of the revenge agency to Rune Gaia, we were busy organizing the equipment to start our tavern and coming up with a menu suitable for this area when Cress, the princess of Rune Gaia, arrived.
First, Cress entered the tavern, followed by her attendant Halim.
Halim looked somewhat tired, and it seemed like Cress, with her tomboyish personality, had sneaked out of the castle.
I silently said to myself, "I sympathize with you," and bowed my head to Halim.
"Hello, Cress-san. I'm glad to see you again."
"Princess, what brings you here today?"
"Maia-san and Teti-san seem to be doing well. Actually, when I heard that Adel-san and the others were opening a tavern, I brought this."
Cress said, placing the package Halim was carrying on the table. The package was wrapped in linen and seemed to have some weight to it.
When the linen was unfolded, a sculpted iron plate appeared.
"Is this... a sign?"
"Yes! As a celebration for the opening, I made it on my own. I heard from Fran that Adel and the others used to run a tavern with this name in your original country."
"Is that so?"
Engraved on the iron sign were the words and picture of (Silver Apple Inn), with a wolf carving surrounding it.
Teti, who was peeking over, perked up her animal ears in response.
"Could this possibly be me?"
"Wow, you really noticed that, Teti-san! I heard that the name of the tavern originated from the meeting of Adel-san and Maia-san, but I wanted to include Teti-san as well. So, I took the liberty of carving it myself."
"Thank you... I'm really happy."
Teti, looking modestly pleased, lowered her ears and wagged her tail happily. Maia and I also smiled and expressed our gratitude to Cress.
"I also want to thank you. This is the best grand opening gift ever."
"Thank you so much, Cress-san. I'll decorate it as soon as it gets dark tonight."
The members of the Silver Apple Inn gazed at the sign Cress had brought, but then they all remembered something Cress had said earlier and looked up together.
"Um... Did the princess carve this sign?"
"This sculpture is really well done. It's as if a skilled craftsman worked on it..."
Teti and Maia probably felt the same as me. They alternated between looking at the sign and Cress, who was proudly puffing out her chest, with wide eyes.
Normally known for her lively behavior and fitting the image of a tomboy, it was honestly "surprising" to see Cress delicately crafting sculptures like this.
"Ahem... I understand everyone's feelings. However, Cress-sama is unexpectedly talented."
"Hey Halim, what do you mean by that?"
Halim shrugged as if it was just a playful jab, despite Cress glaring at him.
"But really, you're so good at this. Princess's sculptures, Cress. It's really unexpected."
"Yes. I'm honestly surprised that Cress-san has such talent."
"Oh. I can't imagine it from your usual self."
"Come on! Even you guys!"
As Cress blushed from the sharp words, she shouted.
Seeing her reaction was amusing, and we burst into laughter.
