Volume 5 Chapter 3 It Would Be Difficult To Reserve In A Fantasy World, But... (Meta Comment)
Even though we had come all the way here, there was no place to stay, so it wasn't even a funny story. However, there was no way to contact the inns in Eubarest to make a reservation. Even if we were to send a letter, it would take time for the round trip, and if the rooms were filled during that time, it would be meaningless.
However, the inns side understood this as well. Therefore, they had their own system in place.
That was the carriage we had ridden on.
The carriages heading to Eubarest are affiliated with the local inns. Apart from the rooms prepared by going directly to the inns, there are separate room slots prepared exclusively for guests arriving by carriage.
In other words, if you ride a carriage affiliated with the inns where you want to stay, it is almost certain that you can secure a room at the desired inns.
Of course, there is a fee involved, but as mentioned earlier, it's better to spend that money than to end up in a situation where you've spent all that time going to Eubarest but have nowhere to stay. So, it's actually a reasonable expense.
Thanks to that, we were able to successfully get a room at the inn we were hoping for.

"By the way, Yukina-kun, have you ever been on a date with Mikage?"
--That was the next morning after arriving at the inn.
After spending a long time on a horse-drawn carriage, trying to recover from the fatigue and get ready to start our activities, Kyunei suddenly brought it up.
"Huh!?"
Startled by Kyunei's unexpected question, Mikage let out a strange sound.
Even though Mikage is always calm and composed during battles, in everyday situations, she shows cute reactions when caught off guard.
Anyway, I'm trying to search my own memories.
"This is out of the blue. ...Wait, now that you mention it, maybe so."
So far, I've spent a lot of time with Mikage. We often worked together as mercenaries on various missions.
However, it was all just part of our 'work'. It's difficult to call it a date.
I've been on a date with Kyunei and Aina before. Looking back, I realized that there were very few times when Mikage and I had any moments together that could be considered a date.
"It seems like that, there were indeed no such moments."
"Um...sorry."
I felt more sorry towards Mikage than towards Kyunei.
In response to my words, Kyunei continued in a soothing tone rather than scolding.
"But maybe it can't be helped. Since you two are usually together and Mikage is not the type to initiate such things."
After nodding in agreement, Kyunei added,
"Alright, it's a good opportunity, so go on a date together."
It sounded like an order, but it wasn't a bad suggestion at all. To me, it was more like a lifesaver.
"Um, no. I'm definitely not..."
Kyunei chuckled at Mikage's flustered response.
"Mikage, you might be focused on being Yukina-kun's servant, but at the same time, you two are also lovers, right? Mikage is probably satisfied just being with Yukina-kun, but since we're here as tourists, we should enjoy ourselves purely as lovers without worrying about being servants."
"But, after all, people like me..."
Mikage continued to try to explain, but Aina held her hand.
"Kyunei-san is right. We always rely on Mikage-san for everything. So, it's okay for Mikage-san to have Yukina-san all to herself sometimes as a reward."
"Aina-sama..."
"Besides, Mikage-san did me a favor before, so now it's my turn to do one for you."
She was referring to the time when Mikage was doing equipment maintenance, and I spent the day with Aina instead of Mikage.
Both Aina and I realized that it wasn't just a coincidence but a thoughtful gesture from Mikage and Kyunei. Thanks to that, we were able to connect on a deeper level emotionally and mentally. That's why Aina is saying it's her turn now.
"Y-Yukina-sama."
Mikage looked at me with a troubled expression. She seemed torn between Kyunei and Aina's feelings and her own thoughts about what to do.
If that's the case, then I know what action I should take.
"All right, Mikage. We're going on a date starting now."
"W-We're going now!?"
Once you decide to do something, it's best to do it right away. The weather is nice today, making it a perfect day for a date.
"Oh, of course, later on please date with me (Kyunei) and Aina-chan too. As I mentioned yesterday, if you don't pay attention to us, we'll sulk too, so keep that in mind, okay?"
"Yeah, of course. Well, I'm off now."
I grab Mikage's hand and pull her out of the room.
"Wait, wait, I still need to...prepare my heart!?"
Ignoring Mikage's almost scream-like voice, Aina and Kyunei say.
"Have fun!"
"Good luck, Mikage!"
Receiving their smiles, I leave the room with Mikage. As we head towards the inn's exit, I tell Mikage, who still hasn't fully accepted the situation.
"Mikage, I will never do anything that you truly dislike. So if you don't want to go on a date with me, just shake off my hand."
When I talked, Mikage's expression crumbled for a moment and she blushed, lowering her face.
"It's, it's not fair... Yukina-sama must understand that there is no way I can shake off this hand."
"If that's the case, then it's settled."
Her face wasn't just turning red out of embarrassment. It was because, along with her words, Mikage firmly squeezed my hand back.
And so, this is how I ended up going on a date with Mikage at Eubarest city.
