Chapter 53 A Cheat Pharmacist Prescribes Medicine To The Elderly
The next morning, I wake up and stretch my body.
There is barely any light coming through the window. It must still be very early in the morning.

I slowly get up and head outside.
Tai-chan was sleeping in human form, completely n*ked.
I guess she prefers to sleep n*ked. Since she's a Behemoth, she might not like clothes.
I stretch outside and put on my magic bag, heading towards a certain place.
As I walk along the rural road, I eventually see a beautiful rice field.

The Granny villagers notice me and wave with smiles.
Their mornings start very early.
As dawn breaks, I wake up and start working on various tasks.
The muddy Grannies come running towards me.
I take off my bag and get ready.

Feeling the air of my hometown after a long time, maybe that's why I slept so soundly.

Everyone looked truly disappointed, some even dropping their shoulders or sighing.
Everyone seeking me out made me happy. But...my chest ached with pain.

After that, I headed towards the village elders.
They were mainly doing hunting in Abyss Wood.
I prescribed medication like hydration potions and poultices tailored to each symptom.
But every time, the words 'over-the-counter medication' resurfaced, making me feel sorry.
"Leaf-chan"
"Old Man Arthur"
Half-naked old man came to me.
At the entrance of Abyss Wood, he was dragging something along.
"I was just about to head back after morning training when breakfast was ready."
"Oh, it's an ancient dragon. What happened?"
"Yeah, I gave them a little side-eye and they got scared and died."

Old man can take a life with just his killing intent.
Experts are just that normal, so I still have a long way to go. Old man is amazing!
I put the ancient dragon in my magic bag and headed home together.
"What were you doing, Leaf-chan?"
"I was making medicine for others."
"Hmm...? Why would you do that?"
"For redemption, I guess."
I went home with old man Arthur. Just the two of us, so I could say things I couldn't say before.
"I left the village and came to the city. Leaving behind you and the others, my benefactors."
"It's not like we were abandoned..."
"I know you don't think that, but it's the truth, right?"
The people in the village relied on my medicine.
The pharmacist me left the village.
Who will take care of everyone's health now?
They smiled with my medicine. Seeing those smiles, I couldn't help but feel that way even more.
Did I abandon the village after all?
"What are you saying?"
Old man poked my forehead.
Thwaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!
I flew through the air like a leaf caught in a storm and made a big hole in the ground.
"Ouch, what was that for?"
Luckily, I only had a few broken bones because of my incredible skills, so I used an Elixir to heal them. Oh well, this was nothing.
Training was always like this.
"Don't blame yourself, Leaf-chan."
Old man Arthur chuckled.
"Do you know what brings the most joy to us old folks?"
"No... I'm not sure..."
He smiled kindly and said,
"It's when the children with bright futures leave the nest and shine."
As I lay there, he reached out a hand to me.
To leave the nest and shine... huh.
"When you came to the village, Leaf-chan, it was clear right away. You enjoy living in the city, don't you?"
"Yeah..."
Mercury-san, Tai-chan, and everyone in the guild.
Everyone is kind.
There is a lot I didn't know, and it's fun.
I'm really glad I came to the capital city.
"As long as my grandson is healthy, we are happy."
"But...what about taking care of your health?"
"Don't worry about it. We manage somehow on our own!"
Old man pats my head.
"Don't worry about a thing, just keep adventuring and staying healthy. Well, I do wish you would come back occasionally. But once in a while is fine. Don't worry about your hometown, just do what makes you happy."
Old man saw that I was feeling down, and he encouraged me.
When I said thank you, he smiled and walked ahead.
But... his back seemed more bent forward than usual. Maybe he hurt it during his training in the morning.
In the village, having a pharmacist is really important.
...Before leaving the village, I want to figure that out somehow.
